Explorers Montessori Coastal Cooperative establishes the foundation for life-long learning by providing a positive, supportive, and thoughtfully prepared environment that cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the world beyond the classroom.
Individualized Education: Students are encouraged to work at their own pace through the use of self-directed, hands-on activities that cultivate the joy of learning.
Power and Agency: Students are given the freedom to find their own voice, and to advocate for themselves and others in both academic and social matters.
Respect and Responsibility: A sense of community is promoted by modeling healthy and respectful relationships, teaching emotional literacy, and encouraging personal responsibility.
Inclusiveness: Students and their families vary in cultural backgrounds, family structures, and gender orientations. All will be treated with respect and dignity, and be represented in the classroom and its materials.
